The first post...

Look, a blog! After some hesitation, I've decided to use a blog to capture some highlights of our time in London. I promise to keep the posts as brief as possible and will do my best to provide some entertainment along the way.

If you read my letters from Ukraine, you get the idea...but that land was more exotic than Jolly ol' England. Still, I think there are enough quirks to provide some smirks. See how witty this blog is already?

Amazingly, I've already been here for 2 1/2 months. The time has flown by in a blur of fairly long days at work and weekends filled with as many activities as I could pack in. Sadly, Anya's dad has had some health problems, so I've spent the bulk of this time alone, as Anya is in Ukraine helping out her parents.

Life here has been busy and fun. I've gotten a bicycle and have been riding to/from work on it, navigating the cars and busses with aggression (yes mom, I'm wearing my helmet). There is a critical mass of biking commuters so cars notice us. I've also been taking the bike to the countryside via train and then biking from town to town, which is excellent. Two weeks ago I biked from some random town to Canterbury and then from there to the coast.

Work is going well. I've managed to find work excuses to go to Dublin and Edinburgh and will be going to Munich in September for meetings.

Here are a couple of photos...
