The English love to walk. There are footpaths all over the countryside that allow a walker to skip the road and cut across fields, over foot bridges and through churchyards to make it to the next village. These footpaths exist because of a public right of way law that allows people to pass over many private lands. This is really cool if you're into wandering the countryside....which we are!
The picture at right is a path I stumbled on somewhere outside of Stratford-upon-Avon (birthplace of Shakespeare).
This weekend, Anya and I are hiking/walking the Clarendon Way, which is a 24 mile trail between Salisbury and Winchester. At mid-point, we'll stop at a B&B in a little village. As long as the weather holds, it should be good fun.
If you care to check out more info on this path, click here.
When we're back in London, soaking our sore feet, I'll report how it was.
Finally, I'd be remiss not to give a shout out to our globe-trotting feline, Glasha. Lil' Glash flew from Seattle to London last weekend like a trooper. He's now happily chewing on my plants and placing little vomit surprises about the apartment.
Big thanks to Kelly who lovingly cared for Glasha for 3 months!! Glasha says hi, Kelly.
