There's no place like home

I love fall for the leaves, Thanksgiving, college football and yes, even the crap weather. We get 2 of the 4 in London, which I suppose isn't too bad.

And when Christmas rolls around, I've heard London goes all out, so that's cool. In Ukraine, Christmas falls on January 7th. I recall walking through L'viv on Dec 25, 2004 and lamenting the fact that it was just another work day. That sucked. On a bright note, it's much easier to spend Christmas with the in-laws! But I digress...

I'm not feeling homesick, but I do love seeing reminders of home. Waiting for the train in Paddington Station I was delighted to see a note from my old friend, Jack. Imagine my double delight to see an ad for skiing in Tahoe right next to it!

I got all artsy with the train arriving in the photo. You like that? Of course you do.

Have you heard the Oregon Ducks are number 1 in the nation? Of course you have.

I assure you the Brits are fully behind the mighty Ducks of Oregon. They don't come right out and say it, but I'm sure they care. I even stumbled on a street that is celebrating this fact in central London. Duck Lane. Love it.

Anya and I were going to stroll down this lane, until the smell of urine and despair hit us like a brick wall. Not a nice lane. Good name though!
