At least for now, the weather is perfect and everyone seems to walk the streets with a smile (and not just those paid to do so, if you catch my meaning). What better way to ring in spring than with a solid pub crawl.

Stop 1 had tasty double chocolate stout. |

stop 2 for some old Victorian ambiance |
Anya decided to not accompany four increasingly intoxicated people as they wandered London from bar to bar (go figure). So it was four of us: Mary (the brains and planning behind the operation) and her husband Kevin, along with their visiting buddy, Mark and myself.

stop 3 |
Good times were had and Mary planned well. Each pub was on the crawl for a reason - be it great beer offered, quirky ambience, good food...or all the above.

The Windsor Castle (left, stop 3) for example, fell into the 'quirky' grouping.

It is here that the London Handelbar Mustache Club has its monthly meetings. See just above how a proud man sports his lip lettuce...right next to the queen, pouring a fine glass of England's finest! |

always amusing, those British street signs. |
I'm pretty sure the Gunmakers (to the left) was stop number 4...then again, things were started to get a bit fuzzy around the edges at this point.
I know for a fact we stopped for dinner and a pint at the
Beehive, pub number 5, and we were happy with the quality of both. Apparently I was too satisfied to take a photo.

number 7 - I think my photogrophy skills are declining as the night goes on. |

final stop, number 8 |

Survivors!...feeling no pain. |
Thanks again to Mary for organizing! No place better for a crawl, if you ask me.

I feel like the bookends here may have been doubling up at a few of the locations...
